Why have so many people developed a habit of going to bed at the crack dawn despite knowing the fact that they will be forced into exhaustion and irritation the moment they open their reluctant eyes in the morning? 3 Ways to Stop Staying Up All Night Long

If you become sleep deprived by staying up all night long, your productivity is likely to fall drastically. This is not a small problem that you should overlook. A drop in productivity can cost you your job or earn you a failing grade at school. It can even spell disaster for your health. This is why you need to immediately focus on getting yourself more hours of sleep at night. Here is how you can do it:

1) Get Yourself Prepared for Bed

Remember the good old days when your mother would dress you up in your pyjamas, give you a glass of milk and cookies, get you to brush your teeth and then tuck you in bed? Falling asleep during those days of childhood was a lot easier than it is today. If you can somehow replicate the entire routine of gearing up for bed like you used to do as a child, then you will be able to catch a lot more sleep than you are doing today.

2) Ditch the Phone, Grab a Book

Scrolling through your newsfeed on Facebook or browsing videos on the internet can turn out to be a very addictive activity. You need to separate yourself from that once its past midnight. Instead of endlessly staring at your phone’s screen, get yourself under the blanket, turn on the bedside lamp and read a book of your choice. Regardless of how big a bookworm you are, you do not have to be concerned about going on and on throughout the night when you are reading a book. At some point in time (probably within 45 minutes), you will feel the need to shut the book and get your eyes some much deserved rest.

3) Talk with Someone Who Sleeps Early

It helps to be in touch with a friend who sleeps at a timely hour. By talking with that person every single night, you will be able to relax yourself mentally and physically, something that is required to get yourself prepped for a good night’s sleep. Talking with such a person regularly will be a great influence on your sleeping habit and will help you realize that staying up till dawn is abnormality that you need to avoid.
