How To Control Your Mood and Emotions

We ultimately have control over our mood and emotions. I find this hard to believe at times, but it’s absolutely true. We have the ability within us to make a situation better. We can snap out of a bad, angry, sad, happy, or any other mood in an instant with enough focus and direction. If we can do all this, then why are so many people miserable?

Reason #1 Being afraid of change

The first reason is because the person who has locked into this mood or mode is afraid to change. If it’s a bad mood they are in, then honestly they are afraid to change their mood even for the better. Why? It’s simple. They don’t want to feel any worse so if they do nothing they can’t get worse. They have the fear that they don’t have control over there emotions and feelings well enough to change the way they feel.

Some people do this because that is what they have been told. Others do this because it’s all they know. Etc. If this is you, it’s time for a change! You can change the way you feel for the better. Don’t let ANYONE tell you otherwise. You can make any situation into one that inspires and enlightens you no matter how bad it is. All you need to do is have a little faith in yourself and give it a good try.

Reason #2 Doing the opposite of what makes you happy

For some reason some people have the tendency to do the exact opposite of what they want. I’m serious. There are some of us out there suffering because we do the wrong thing and we know it. Take for example a person who hates their job beyond reason. They hate it so bad they dread getting up to go to work in the morning. Why are they still there? They know that they could quit at any time and find another job. They do the opposite just because. It’s really that simple. If this is you, starting right now figure out what it is you want and start doing it. Whatever makes you happy do it right now and don’t stop.

Reason #3 Wrong beliefs

This one might be a little more tricky to uncover. If you believe something then you are going to think, act, respond, feel, etc. in accordance with whatever held belief you have. If you believe you are right, you might go to great extents to prove this. Beliefs are down at your core. Sometimes they can be negative and bad for your mood. If that’s the case then you have to change them. I have an entire article written about changing your negative beliefs if you would like to read more.

Reason #4 Sympathy attention

This one might be a shocker, but there are many people out there that suffer from lack of attention. Especially children and teens. If you have someone who is starved for attention they might make up a lot of problems just to have you feel sorry for them. They do this to everyone in order to gain the attention they crave. This kind of negative behavior should be stopped immediately. You are only making your situation worse and will never get out if you don’t change. Stop trying to get negative attention and try to get some positive instead. Do something really good and get ready for a pat on the back. It feels 100 times better.

Well there are some great things to ponder over the next couple of days. I hope this could shed some light into your life and if not for you then share it with someone else. Good Luck!
